Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what information AltarHaus collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, please reach out at hello@altarhaus.com.
1. Who We Are
AltarHaus (altarhaus.com) is a wedding vendor directory and editorial platform. When we refer to "AltarHaus", "we", "us", or "our" in this policy, we mean the operators of the AltarHaus platform. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, please contact us at hello@altarhaus.com.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, including: name, email address, business name, website URL, social media handles, billing information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details), profile photos and portfolio images, and any other content you submit through the platform. We also collect information automatically when you use the Service, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on pages, through standard server logs and analytics tools.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: create and manage your vendor account and directory listing; process subscription payments through Stripe; communicate with you about your account, subscription, and editorial features; send occasional updates about AltarHaus (you may opt out at any time); improve the platform and tailor the experience for users; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Vendor Profile Information
Information submitted to your vendor profile — including your business name, location, bio, services, website, and images — is displayed publicly on the AltarHaus directory and may be indexed by search engines. You are responsible for ensuring that the information you submit to your public profile is accurate and does not infringe the rights of any third party. You may update or remove your profile information at any time via your vendor dashboard.
5. Wedding Submissions
When you submit a wedding for editorial consideration, we collect the information included in the submission form, including your name, email, the names of the couple, vendor credits, and any images or links you provide. This information is used solely for the purpose of editorial review. If your submission is published, content from the submission — including photographs and vendor credits — will appear publicly on the AltarHaus website. We will not publish your personal contact details without your explicit consent.
6. Cookies & Analytics
AltarHaus uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the platform and understand how visitors use the site. This includes session cookies (required for the site to function) and analytics cookies (which help us understand traffic patterns). You can control cookie settings through your browser. Disabling certain cookies may affect site functionality. We use privacy-respecting analytics and do not build advertising profiles or share data with ad networks.
7. Payment Processing
All payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you make a payment, you are submitting your payment details directly to Stripe via their secure infrastructure. AltarHaus receives only a tokenised reference and basic transaction data (amount, date, status). We do not have access to your full card number, CVV, or billing address. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.
8. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating the platform (such as hosting, email delivery, and payment processing) under strict confidentiality agreements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law, or in the good-faith belief that such disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or protect the rights and safety of AltarHaus, its users, or the public.
9. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes. Analytics data is retained in aggregated, anonymised form. Wedding submissions that have been published may remain on the platform in accordance with our editorial licence — please contact us if you wish to request removal.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to or restrict our processing of your data; and receive a copy of your data in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@altarhaus.com. We will respond within 30 days. For users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, these rights are provided under GDPR. For California residents, similar rights apply under CCPA.
11. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure password hashing, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.
12. Children's Privacy
AltarHaus is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
13. International Transfers
AltarHaus is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the platform from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for any cross-border data transfers.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or by a notice on the platform. The date of the most recent revision appears at the top of this page. Your continued use of AltarHaus after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
15. Contact Us
If you have questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or our data practices, please contact us at hello@altarhaus.com. We take privacy seriously and will respond to all enquiries promptly.
